How do I get a design where the text neither get very narrow nor desappears?
Please compare:

Problem: the text disappears when I narrow the window a lot

https://www.scaiecat-spa-gigi.com/index.php

problem: the text looks badly when I make it the window much narrower

https://www.scaiecat-spa-gigi.com/test-2.php

Problem: the layout is little boring

Any suggestions?

In IE6, FF 1.07, Opera 8.5 - When I resize the window there is no
difference in text size.

Your url's appear to be 2 completely different designs, so I'm not sure
what you are talking about.

You have to resize the window a lot to let the text go out the window but it
happens.
The text does not squish in my design either if you resize the window only a
little.

They are different but the purpose should be to display the same

Only because I made the DIV 400px and not a % of window, since image
230px wide 400 seemed reasonable. WebTv is 540px so it would even
viewable on WebTv. Horizontal scroll is only need < 400px, pretty small
window. Anyway it was only a demo to illustrate a design without the table.

At the same width, your table shows only your damn language buttons and
the pictures, you must scroll to see the text! If you cannot see the
point...well, I'll be kind, good luck with 'one man business'!

IMO wouldn't be concerned with anything under 800 x 600.

I made the window very small - 640 x 480. The reason your text is
"squished" (but still readable) is your use of tables.

If you continue to use tables, then move your nav buttons further to the
left and make them narrower. Eliminate the picture of the bird on the
right and allow the table to flow that direction as well. Utilizing
both suggestions would help add another 150px to the available space on
the page, resulting in less "squishing".

That sounds reasonable but my page does not give big problems
with a width which is >600 or =600 does it?

This alternative sounds reasonable.
A further solution would be to put them horizontally before the text is
coming

Where would I put it?

I could also have pictures which are narrower than 230.

On your picture there are also some problems.
The picture of the garbage is on a

And the page looks empty, it is not fluid somehow.

Let´s come back to the menu.
Do you think that it is still too large?

prominent for links just to switch to another language. So, yes, I have
begun to question your sincerity. 'But do you think shoes should be red?'

Here is my short answer:
1)When I asked a question in a NG I do not adress my question specifically
to one person unless I specify that.
That implies that I may have already got an answer on one subject but that
I would
like to ask again to hear what other people have to say.
2) One question can be also asked again because I may have made some
changes on the website during that time
3) When someone ask me for advice I do not try to figure out that the piece
of advice
I am going to give must be accepted by the person in question.
On the contrary, I think that he or she has to decide whether he or she
wants to use the advice or not.
When I ask someone else for advice, I assume that I can decide afterwards
whether I want to make use of this piece of advice or not
4) What you think it is right may be questionable for me and viceversa. If
you feel it is frustrating that you give a piece of advice which I might not
use,
please do not give any advice

Usenet does not normally work that way. Email does.

IOW, you *got* an answer, but you didn't like it.

That's true. You keep asking the same questions over and over.

Luigi, you have been shown to do the following over and over:

1) Ignore advice
2) Post the same question many multiples of times
3) Clearly not understand the underlying principles of a particular
question you are asking
4) Ignore advice
5) Ask the same question again

You have been posting for years now and I have not seen you take even one
step in the direction of improving your HTML and or other web-related
coding and/or design skills.

You are just one tiny RCH away from being labelled a Usenet kook.
Frankly, I only respond to your questions anymore to see what sort of
retarded dribble comes out of your typing fingers. I am a grownup, yes,

frequented by Luigi, but if you google for his old posts, you will see
that this is nothing new. The only thing Luigi has gotten better and
