CSS problem in IE

Hi,

I tried to set up my first standard compliant page with CSS and
without layout tables. Now I experienced a problem:

If this page is vieved in IE 6 on Windows (maybe other versions of IE
too), the layout looks very strange if the browser window is not wide
enough.

Does anybody have an idea, how to prevent this? The page looks good
enough in Netscape 7, Opera 7 and Firefox. Just IE is having problems
here.
