Hello guys, in the next few weeks I am going to be setting up an
asp.net 1.1 web farm at work. The hardware scenario is as follows...
Main:
1 Windows Server 2003 configured as a DC
2 Windows Server 2003 member/app servers
I will set up the cluster between the two member servers. I understand
that I will have to maintain state in MS SQL server afterwards.
Will I need MS SQL Server 2000 SP4 loaded on both boxes?
Should I use a server cluster or NLB cluster? What are some of the
advantages of using either (assuming that either could be used?)
Additional information:
There are also several other servers including a couple of red hat
boxes functioning as metadata servers for our SAN (ADIC file system).
There are also a couple of Windows Server 2003 boxes functioning to
support NAS.
I still have a lot to learn before I can implement this. Any
suggestions on some good reading/training materials for this?
