.Net CLR exception 0x792c8101

Hi,

Does anybody know what can cause the aspnet_wp process crashes logging 3 events in the event log:

1. The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( .NET Runtime ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: .NET Runtime version 1.0.3705.288- : Fatal Execution Engine Error (0x792c8101).

2. The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( .NET Runtime ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: .NET Runtime version 1.0.3705.288- aspnet_wp.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services: Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0xab0 (2736), Thread id=0xb44 (2884).

Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.. (process ID and Thread ID are always different of course)

3. aspnet_wp.exe (PID: 2736) stopped unexpectedly.

First 2 events happen at the same time, the 3rd event happens several seconds later.

We run .Net framework 1.0 with SP2 installed. Windows 2000 server SP4, IIS 5. All patches applied.

From your post, it appears that this may be a registration issue. Have you
tried re-installing?
