Thus spake Barbara de Zoete:It might be in need of a few blessings. Recently came across a list[1]
that explains why the United States of America are to be considered a
third world country :-D :There was more, but this starts to build a picture.
:-/ Good luck US
[1]Had to translate the list, so I'm sorry if my use of english is bad.
Not sorry for the content.
Thank you for this list, Barbara. Does the remainder of the list
include lack of universal health care anywhere?
I dont remember that. There was some issues about social insurances, might
have included universal health care.
Is the (Dutch, I assume) source of this list online? Not that I'm
conversant in anything except English, but perhaps to save you the
effort I could translate the rest of it adequately using Google.
It was from a newspaper, the NRC (memory comes back now). Quite a while
ago, perhaps close to half a year ago or longer.
They are online, <http://www.nrc.nl/> but you have to be a registered user
(can register online) to be able to browse through their archives. I hate
that. Maybe someone else can give it a try.
I would be very interested in seeing the actual statistical comparisons,
especially among other "First World" countries.
IIRC the US were sort of benchmarked at criteria and statisticals from the
UN.
Not being much of a
statistics wonk, I hope I can get most of them through
http://www.nationmaster.com/.
Thanks again, especially for the luck.
You know, I actually mean that. A country hardly ever get the government
they voted for. So many things just seem to happen or get so complex, a
country is almost human in its nature.
