Fix the Column width of a DataGrid

Dear All,
I am having a problem while trying to display the Data in a
DataGrid.Is it possible to Fix the length of the Column of a
DataGrid.Ie preset the width of the Column. i.e. is it possible to
customize where in the width of every column would be set according to
the value that is to be displayed in it. And also would it be possible
to Truncate the value to be displayed in the Grid if it exceeds a
certain length.
