ImportError: Don't know how to import XYZ (type code 3)

Trying to load a C++ module that is wrapped with boost_python and get
the error

ImportError: Don't know how to import XYZ (type code 3)

I think type code 3 is means that it is a C++ wrapped .pyd.

.....I have know idea what that means or how to fix it.

Any ideas?
