I recently came to know about Zimbra Mail. Though I am a Gmail user, I want to know why would someone use any mail service other than Gmail. Gmail is the most famous and mostly used emailing service (after apple mail), I never heard of Zimbra before.
Asking just out of curiosity, is there any feature in zimbra which makes it stand out of others? If there is, should I consider using it?
By the way, this is my first post on this forum. ;)

Features of Zimbra that differentiate it from Gmail.

1. Zimbra is an open-source mail which means you can modify, change, or customize its code.
2. Full control of data and security since it allows self-hosting which means control over servers.
3. Offline access to emails.
4. Powerful admin tools
5. Extend your Zimbra installation functionality through "Zimlets"

These features make it unique from other email clients.

Zimbra Mail is ideal for businesses that need control, customization, and on-premises hosting. It offers integrated tools like chat, calendar, and task management, and is more cost-effective for larger teams. Zimbra also provides offline access, making it suitable for areas with unreliable internet.

Gmail, on the other hand, is a cloud-based, easy-to-use solution that integrates seamlessly with Google’s productivity tools like Drive and Docs. It’s a great choice for businesses looking for a simple, scalable email service without the need for managing infrastructure. In short, Zimbra is better for businesses needing more control, while Gmail is ideal for those seeking convenience and integration with Google tools.
