I don't know whether I've lumbered into a troll's nest, so I'll ask what
the role of the purple toolbar is.

What the ****, Nick, you're the only person in my clc killfile.
I seem to be the person who quotes books maybe more than others. This
belies my usual motivation to solve problems that get thrown my way.
Fortran is my lingua germana, while C is my lingua franca. I try to
bring computational, mathematical methods to bear on problems I can't
avoid. I cannot, as a person with drilling experience, trade
experience, a deep physics and mathematical background, and plenty to
lose with failure, sit on the sidelines.

The solution I'm thinking of is not different than integrating a star,
which we did as seniors in physics, but the problem is that I took an
"F" in that class. THe Berlin was falling, and I couldn't be bothered
by places where the sun shone.
Stellar Evolution. Ptak, the instructor, had his Ph.D signed by Hans Bethe.
Not many people know about the conversation between him and Pres.
Eisenhour before the latter authorized lighting the fuse on the H bomb.

Why do you keep changing your nym? The first one was fine.

No, it has always been an idiot, in this no less than in previous

Seebs, you're a nice guy, but I'd rather be in your killfile than not.
In comp.unix.programmer, they said that actual e-mail was better than a nym.

Richard Heathfield said:Everything is allowed in here (subject to local civil and criminal
legislation), but you can't force people to read your stuff. If you
post stuff they don't want to read, eventually they'll stop reading
your stuff. If you don't care about whether people read your stuff, why
post? So it makes sense at least to make the attempt to use language
that people are prepared to read. Some people (such as myself) prefer
not to read articles by people who, whether because they suffer from a
hideous vocabulary deficiency or through a misguided and rather
pathetic attempt at being offensive, feel obliged to resort to
expletives. Not everyone shares this preference, but there seems to be
a general negative correlation between good, readable articles and
liberal use of expletive.
Translation: swearing on Usenet is not actually illegal, but it's not a
good way to persuade people to take you seriously.
Alas, there is far too much that is off-topic in here.
