Looking for a good book on object design w/ databases

J

Joel Barsotti

Hi,

I have a little website that is getting bigger all the time (hit 1M
pageviews in a month). I've got an object library I've designed for all the
things I use in my website (users, orders, products, searching, ect..). But
I never really have seen what the best practices look like for this sort of
thing as I've very much been learning on the job. Nearly all of these
objects interact with my database for either loading or storing. Can anyone
point me to a good read on the subject. Caching is also very high on my
list of things that need improvement.

Thanks,
Joel

Hi Joel,

Welcome to the MSDN newsgroup.

For the application design patterns or best practice, I suggest you first
have a look at the MSDN's pattern & practice center:

#Microsoft patterns & practices Home
https://msdn.microsoft.com/practices/

Also, you can visit the following web forums since there will exist some
good books on .NET/ASP.NET application development introducted...

http://www.asp.net
http://www.theserverside.net

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Steven Cheng
