Newbie to coding and wanting to learn

Hi everybody,

I’ve come here to learn more about coding, unfortunately I’m a complete newbie when it comes to anything relating to coding. I’m a mechanical hands on type of person and I’m mid 30s so learning isn’t as easy as it use to be lol. But, I have a need to create a program that can read text from a video and output it on to a note pad.

I’m currently learning C++ using Codeacdemy, would this be the correct path to start learning? Any newbie advice and ideas?
