Newby: What security settings to use to get walkthroughs to work

I just followed the instructions in the "Using SQL Server in Web
Applications" topic to switch security to integrated. Then I tried following
the walkthrough "Accessing an XML Web Service Using Visual Basic or Visual
C#"
I found I could not get this walkthrough to work until I undid my efforts
under the "Using SQL Server in Web Applications" topic.

Can anyone give me some tips to avoid problems with security when trying to
learn from the walkthroughs?
