arg, damn - ok, its an english group, i will handle that ;)

I wanted to know (thats the text in german says) where and if the
register adresses ie. for the bootsektor or system files could be
find. I dont really know, how i could wrtie a programm that get the
informations, where to find important windows files. I want to write a
tool to backup my system, even if i could use ghost or other
backupprogramms i want to write it on my own. Is it possible that
someone could help me?

I think the bootsector has always the same position, but i dont
know how i could findout the adresses, and write all important Windows
data into a file, a bin or zip archieve ie.

And another question, what do i have to copy if i want to
create a working backup - is it only all files i can see in my
explorer?

I've heard about try and error ;) - but it needs to much time
for my work

Thx for your time - Would be great if anyone could help me with this,
thx

(Also links for an open source project or whatever are wanted! ! !)

You need to ask this in a microsoft newsgroup. Check their newsserver:

Which platform?
Which processor?

Different platforms are allowed to boot up at different addresses.

I think the bootsector has always the same position, but i dont
know how i could findout the adresses, and write all important Windows
data into a file, a bin or zip archieve ie.

Boot sector on what kind of device, hard drive, tape drive, Flash
memory, EEPROM?

Different devices can have different boot sectors. Hopefully, the
device will always boot at the same address.

And another question, what do i have to copy if i want to

If you want a working backup, you need to copy the files or data
that you are using.

I've heard about try and error ;) - but it needs to much time
for my work

There is also research, which will cut down on your trial and error
time.
