About Eclipse Sysdeo Tomcat Plugin v 3.1

S

Sameer

Hello,
I am using Eclipse 3.2.
I have downloaded the Sysdeo Tomcat Plug-in for the same.
It is a zip file tomcatPluginV31.zip.
I extracted the same to eclipse/plugins directory.
Follwing the instructions of the plug-in,
I have to go to
'Window->Customize Perspective...->Commands',
and check 'Tomcat' in 'Available command groups'

But I am not getting Tomcat anywhere.
I have noticed that the plug-in was extracted properly as there is a
com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat_3.1.0 folder in plug-ins folder.

What may be the problem?
Please help.

yes.
i faced the same problem but finally i got it solved.

do the following .

(1) delete the ECLIPSE folder.

(2) extract freshly from the zip file.

(3) DONT start it ....just copy your plugin and put that into
ECLIPSE's PLUGIN directory.

(4) Now, start the eclipse

You should after installing ANY Eclipse plugin to shutdown Eclipse and
restart it with the -clean option. Example:

Eclipse -clean

You should, after installing ANY Eclipse plugin, shutdown Eclipse and
restart it with the -clean option. This lets Eclipse rebuild all of it
internal tables for features and plugins.

Example: Eclipse -clean

You should then be able to see the references to the new plugin where it
is designed to be used and configured.

This is like destroying your car and buying a new one because you want new tires.

IchBin gave the answer: eclipse -clean

Another approach:
Oracle JDeveloper being installed on my PC, so I am having JDK1.5.
I just given the path of jvm to eclipse and started Eclipse as:
eclipse -vm d:\JDeveloper\jdk\bin\javaw.exe
This has solved my problem.
Now I am getting the Tomcat toolbar in the Eclipse.

Sameer, try to learn how to post to a newsgroup. That is, 'DO NOT TOP
POST'. Hope my 'Engrish' is understandable.

Starting one IDE relaying on the another IDEs installed JVM is crazy.

It works for you but it is not the right answer.
