Would you guys say there is a speed difference between a live http link and
a local root link within the coding?

Thanks in advance

Could you explain a bit more? I think you're asking if there is a
speed difference between
http://www.example.com/foo/bar.html
and /foo/bar.html
(assuming that both are in a page on example.com)
Is that right?

If that is the question then the answer is that there should be no
difference. The visitor's browser has to do a miniscule amount of
extra work in the latter case but if that makes any difference the
visitor has a very screwed up computer.

Judging by the OP's site, if he's after speed he should be more concerned
with:

* moving CSS into an external file
* removing useless classes like 'class="normaltext"'
* optimising images

* removing the advertising (9 graphical ads on one page?)
* "This page contains [...] 41 nested tables."
