Do tell. I thought you were in LA proper. I Like that area up there,
C'ept for that Hollywood stuff. Stayed once over in the Valley, having
drifted down the coast from SF. Nice. Stayed once down at Anaheim.
Didn't like that much.

I live in North Hollywood (which is on the south edge of the Valley),
and Universal is between here and Hollywood. Neither North Hollywood
nor Hollywood are actually cities, so addresses in either are Los
Angeles addresses. Sure -- we use "North Hollywood" when we address
mail, and it's delivered; it's just that those are districts of L.A.
The Hollywood Hills separate NoHo from Hollywood.
ROFLMBAO.

You mean when she bumps right up into, say, a naval frigate and
squashes her unborn right up into her sternum? Ouch.

That, too.
Must be a bummer to give birth to those hammerheads! Like pulling
nails?

Like pushing nails through the wood, wide head and all.

John Wayne and Lauren Bacall. Just saw "To Have And Have Not" last
weekend, again.

Still can't recall "Blood Alley". Probably didn't like it. Regarding
the other, I also HAVE seen that but HAVE NOT it in my collection.
Of those I've seen "Donovan's Reef", "Robin Hood" (just a couple
months ago) and "Sin City".

Can't believe you've just seen Robin Hood. They used to show that on TV
every other week when I was a kid. Did you live in a fishbowl or what?
Giant radioactive Google Groupers seeking their revenge.

Ah, you've seen too many movies...

.... I visited/briefly-stayed-in that area many moons ago. Was familiar
with Van Nuys H.S., Studio City as well as North Hollywood, and a few of
the homes on Mulholland drive. Was pursuing this broad whose pants I
admired, but, alas, couldn't work it out.

With the advent of Netflix, my "collection" stopped growing; it was
never large. I don't need to see many movies more than once.

No. There are scores of thousands of movies in the world. Also how do
you know that my having seen it just a couple of months ago means I
never saw it before? *I* don't know if I've seen it before -- I don't
remember every film I've seen in my 60 years. Also the sound is pretty
bad under water...

I'm in the south side of NoHo, close to Studio City. Actually, a few
years ago my part of NoHo became Valley Village, but that's such a local
name I rarely bother using it.

Yes, you should have both [alt and title in images].

I don't think you _should_ have both. You should have the alt.
You may have the title if you want the tool-tip. But you are
perfectly entitled not to want this.

In Witness, John Book asks what is wrong with buttons when trying
on a suit that Rachel has modified for his size. He asks if there
is something wrong with buttons, there being no buttons. The
reply is that no buttons is plain and good. In fact, Amish
authors are forbidden by their church to have title attributes.

You should have both. IE6 displays alt tags as hovering tool tips,
which may not be relevant to most visitors. Title tags are supposed to
be visible. Alts aren't.

You need to say why in more detail. You did not understand my
argument from hollywood? Why _should_ you have a title? It is
generaly understood why an alt is needed. But why must an author
organise, effectively, for a tooltip on all images?

Some, like the original "King Kong", probably 50 times or more.

Water in the ears makes the brain soggy, too. However, the mind is the

Can't recall the street or area of Studio City I stayed in, but it was a
house-behind-a-house on the same (fairly large) lot. 'Probably worth a
couple mill today.

"Redirection" is a more standards-compliant way of putting it.

Ah, Animal House! One of the great classics of all time. Not surprising
you have "salty" taste.

Regarding your film-perusing habits, ya know what it is? Human brains
are more developed and thus capable of absorbing subtle data they might
have missed the first time or reliving a sublime experience stimulated by
an especially meaningful cinematic scene. Sharks, on the other hand, are
rather blunt and tend to be less interested in things they can't eat.

Well, did you like it? It's considered a classic by most critics.

Er, true. Furthermore, there's *some* people, even right here on this
newsgroup, that wouldn't look good standing next to an unpainted pig pen.
Have you ever thought of going to Australia for lunch?

You're an admirably pragmatic piscene. However, irrationality can be fun
if the dementee has a good sense of humor.

You should have a title on all images to prevent IE stupidly
displaying your alt tags. <img src="border.gif" alt="cosmetic
graphic" title="" />

:)

I honestly don't think it matters, but IE's instance on displaying
alts as tooltips is... stupid!

Hey they're using IE, make every image have an ALT value then they can
be pestered by little balloons popping up everywhere!

MS has a balloon fetish, just love going on default configure WinXP
system and try to log out and that damn hint balloon covers the log out
button...GRR I guess that's why my WinXPPro CD still sits on the shelf
and Win2K is on my system.

So the deal is you sit having to make up a title with words that
are more useful than in the alt for tooltip display and have them
show up in lots and lots of browsers just to get better words in
IE bubbles. I don't think this is such a good deal. Let IE do
what it wants, maybe just be careful of writing a decent text
that will do the job generally and be not all that inappropriate
in IE.

obvious.

Sharks don't really have evolutionary superiors. They are a well
optimized design that has stayed basically the same for thousands of
millions of years.

If they're so superior, how come they still need our help for the
frickin' laser beams on their heads ?
