asp.net webservice used j2me ?

Hello,

I'm developing a software that allows me send data from my cell phone
to my website. My website is in asp.net (visual c#) and the phone
software j2me.

2 questions:

1) What's the best way to link the 2 togther. I was thinking simply
setup a web service in asp.net, and then tell j2me to send data
through a certain port?

2) If QUESTION 1, is TRUE, how do i do that in java? Any guides
online?
