Sorry, I was mixing with some other product that recently stopped
using sun.misc.tools.javac.Main - but it turns out they only switched
to 1.4's new compiler...

Gotta admire his persistence. He calls a reference to a language list
an ad, then the only link or language he quotes is the product he's
plugging :)

Interesting though that his referred page seems to offer mothing but
hype. Solid info (including any idea of cost) only to those that
offer up enough data to guess how much they can be gouged for ;p

Methinks this product will be well remembered...bad for business...

Fascinating looking user interface - one of the most original Java GUI's
I've seen.

Still, won't be touching it with a very long barge-pole.

See what you get for trying to insult my intelligence?

ha,
been to site,
seen they want my money,
want me to give them all kind of info, before even telling me a price, ...

Actually, all you need to do to get a price is select a country on the order
form, and the price is JavaScripted in. A single license is 750 euros.

My name is Jonnie Russell, I am the Founder of Electronic Reality, the
company that built the XBeanEngine, I personally wrote the vast
majority of the code in the XBeanEngine over the last 3 years. I
would like to take this oppurtunity to set the record straight on the
recent post(s) by irishgeek101.

- irishgeek101 does work for a marketing company based in London
- irishgeek101 did not have our authority to post the message or
subsequent respones
- irishgeek101 and the marketing company she works for no longer has
any relationship with Electronic Reality
- Electronic Reality did not post the message nor ask for it to be
posted. The tone and content of the second post, could only prove to
damage our company and the so called help of the initial message, we
can also do without.

Electronic Reality was created to build quality applications and
prides itself on the quality of our software, we are not marketing
experts and have up until now relied on external marketing resource,
this was a mistake on our behalf and we are with immediate effect
taking all marketing inhouse where we can ensure that our marketing
represents our true values.

Please accept my apoligies for any offence that was caused, if in the
future you come across similar post(s) in regard to the xbeanengine
please email me directly so that I can deal with them personally.

There is one ironic twist that Jonnie's contribution added: the OP in this
thread probably did NOT save his job -- and the group(s) definitely had
something to do with that.

Thanks for posting. Do you mind if I ask a few questions and make a few
suggestions?
- irishgeek101 does work for a marketing company based in London

But you did hire that marketing company? Care to tell us the name of
that company? How long did they work for you?
- irishgeek101 did not have our authority to post the message or
subsequent respones

Was it just the posting that was not authorised, or didn't you
authorise the whole style/idea of that "marketing campaign" (to praise
your product on usenet, using made-up stories and identities)?

Care to tell us about other marketing activities that company did for
you (maybe in other newsgroups)?

Will you sue them for your damages?

When/how did you learn about the posting? Do you monitor this groups?

You would benefit from re-working your company and product web pages a
little bit and provide useful contact information there. When I tried
to find out some information about that xbeanthingy lies your whole
site looked like some fly-by-night operation.

Things which I couldn't find (maybe they are well hidden), but which I
expect on a company's web site include:

* Name of owner/CEO/board/etc.

* Complete postal address of company. And it would help if the postal address
matches the other claims of the company's location :)

* Fixed phone number

* Fax number

* E-Mail address

* Information about the company's size (number of employees - if any
:), business volume, etc.)

* Information about the company's field of expertise (no marketing
blabla please)

* If businesses have to be registered in your country: Your
registration number or similar information.

* Your EU VAT registration number. If I remember it correctly, you
should have one, being in the Schengen zone..

* In some countries it is common to publish your bank details, too.

I would also expect to find a list of all products, and easily
accessible pricing information, before the ordering process starts.

And you see what? You got all this suggestions for free without the
need to pay a marketing company. You could have gotten it earlier if
you would have asked.

I'm pretty new around here. What seems pretty sad to me is that the
oldhands clearly expected it to be a piece of marketing hype which
simply means that it must happen a great deal.
I've programmed in many languages for many years and have recently
started with Java, but there are other language groups that still have
the flavour of cooperation that was so enjoyable all those years ago
(harrumph! harrrumph!!!).
Trying to learn how the Java classes work would be easier if the groups
were full of existing questions and answers! Then the great day comes
when *I* can answer someone's question and my, sadly greying, chest
swells with pride. Beats me why these places don't just form on their own.

But there are a lot of questions and answers on the runtime library

(e-mail address removed) ([email protected]) brightened my day
with his incisive wit when in @posting.google.com he conjectured that:
You ignorant shower of idiots, I dont give a toss about what any of
you think.

Are any of you even old enough to remember when this was a community
and we all helped each other and in return all that was given was
thanks and praise. I spent years working on cobol and was bloody good
at it but where the hell can you get a decent cobol job these days.

The groups helped me and I said thanks and all you tossers can do is
come up with some crap about me being in marketing. Maybe you are the
sort of people who just take and never give or say thanks but I was
brought up to be polite and always try and return a favour. I bet
that not one of you even bothered to look at the app, no why would you
maybe you would learn something.

We are not all as shallow and stupid as you tossers.

yours in disgust.

Maybe you could come up with the original post where you got the help.
That's what google is there for.
