How to get mozilla to download a jar file?

I can download jar files without difficulty using Internet Explorer,
but Mozilla instead "displays" them (i.e. fills the screen up with
gibberish).

Does anyone know how to configure Mozilla to download jar files
and save them to disk?

Or is this a server-side problem? (FWIW, I noticed that the server
serving the jar files in question put "text/plain" in the Content-Type
field.)

TIA,

Right-click on the link and select "Save link target as..." from the
context menu.

The fact that the server identifies the content type as "text/plain"
does explain why the browser attempts to display it; Mozilla's behavior
is arguably more "correct" here than is IE's. That and a dollar might
buy you a cup of coffee.

What would be the correct content type for a jar file?

Sorry, missed the start of this thread, just thought I
should add that if the jar is delivered by JWS, you
need to configure a MIME type for .jnlp files..

application/x-java-jnlp-file
