mysql and usercontrols

Hi I want to make a usercontrol that connects to a mysql database
in normal aspx it works but when i try to make a user control it doesnot work

does anybody have some example code how to connect to mysql from a usercontrol

what does "doesn't work" mean...
Is there an error?
The connection method is the exact same.
