know of any .NET apps in use?

In another mailing list the ?nix/mac developers say there are no .NET apps
in use today.

I put up Red Gate's SQL tools as one and DNN.

Any others just you can think of?

That depends on how you define an "app in use". I can't immediately think
of any "household name" software, but the RSS aggregator I use to read news
( http://www.sharpreader.net/ ) is a .NET application. I know of several
shrinkwrapped .NET line-of-business applications for the financial industry.
Perhaps the least expected one I've encountered is the ATI Catalyst Control
Center, a utility for ATI graphics card drivers.

institutions in Denmark.

Every new H-P consumer imaging device (printer/scanner/camera) will install
the .NET Framework on the host PC, if it's not already there. The HP Image
Zone app is written with Windows Forms. For more info on this app, see:

HP Web Jetadmin depends on the .NET Framework.

There's a free PVR, called GBPVR, that is built on .NET

The MS Office Outlook 2003 Business Contact Manager is written in .NET.

There's a free Paint replacement, Paint.NET:

a bunch of web apps, like communityserver (www.communityserver.org)

There are a bunch more in-house apps at many companies.

There are also packaged apps in various vertical segments (like financial
services) that use the .NET Framework.

Not correct. Very little of Vista is .NET, I have done the analysis:

SQL server reporting services is .NET
Commerce Server 2002
Content management server 2002

Yup, and there's a few more listed in the article above.
