Suggest me a project?

What does that mean? Something for you to program? Or download? For what?

Write a client server application that sends "Hello world" to the server
from client, and stores it to a database.

Great thinking! That's what I did when I was young.

My son just grabs WoW when he's bored. That's dumb.

I know socket programming, jdbc [sic], swing, awt [sic], etc.

You didn't mention Java EE (servlets, JSP, JSF, EJB, facelets,
JPA, ...). Perhaps you could put together a Java-based example web
site, run it off of Apache Tomcat locally for practice.

Suggest me a project in java.

I know socket programming, jdbc, swing, awt, etc.

I have a list of 237 suggested projects with a number roughly
indicating difficulty. These are just broad outlines. You have to
decide for yourself just what the program will do. Use them as
inspiration.

"The industrial civilisation is based on the consumption of energy resources that are inherently limited in quantity, and that are about to become scarce. When they do, competition for what remains will trigger dramatic economic and geopolitical events; in the end, it may be impossible for even a single nation to sustain industrialism as we have know it in the twentieth century."
