What comes after writing your program.

I am a Strayer student finishing up my final year of the Bachelor program and I do not know anything about what comes after the coding. I obviously am writing on ideaj. So when I am done writing a program how do I install the program on a computer? And do I need software to make a GUI or do I write the GUI in the compiler?
