What's best reference architecture for Asp.Net 2.0 application?

I need to develop some Asp.Net 2.0 application. Some of them are small and
some are bigger. Any good reference implementation? PetShop 4.0? Or startkit?

The starter kits, for the most part, are good starting points. Most are just
that ... a good STARTING point. I am not sure there is a "be all, end all"
example out there. I have a colleague who has used the commerce starter kit
on a variety of sites.

NOTE: It is, in most cases, difficult to blend starter kits, as they tend to
use core funcationality in different ways. If you want feature A from one
and feature B from another, be prepared for some pain.
