I feel like I waste so much time when I'm trying to learn.

For example today I was trying to learn Django a bit better. In order to do so I had to connect a MySQL database to Django and then display the data from the database in html. It took me about 2 hours alone just to get the data to display html. So in that since I guess I did learn something but I just didn't feel productive.
Should I just accept this as a part of learning or is there something I should do ?
